How to modify games for a Child’s Birthday party

Sometimes a game is well known but doesn’t work for the theme of your party.   You can always change a game to fit the theme, with some creative thinking.  Check out our You Tube video to see a new suggestion for Musical Chairs.  Some suggestions for relay races that can also be modified to your theme. A garden party might have a relay using planting gloves, hats and special rubber shoes, a tea party might do a relay using fancy hats, dress up shoes, and carrying a tray with a plastic tea pot or a cup and saucer, a building party might have a relay using groups of blocks in a big box painted to look like a giant block, while wearing a hard hat.  Depending on the age of your child, the relay can be closer or further apart.  The children can also walk around an obstacle to get to the opposite side.

Instead of an egg toss our dinosaur party suggests using small plastic dinosaurs frozen in an ice cube and then carefully tossed back and forth for a fun and cool game. Instead of the plastic dinosaurs you could use small plastic super hero’s or plastic cars, or any small object that fits your theme.
