“How many days until”… make a countdown chart

December 3, 2015 at 6:27 PM 2 comments

Waiting for a birthday party or a holiday event? We have an idea for assisting your child in understanding the, how many days? question. The sense of days and time can be better understood using visual clues.

Make a countdown timeline using some recycled materials, bubble packing material, a strip of heavy paper, glue, and a colored pen.

Start with a long strip of paper, write the numbers until the big day, glue a strip of the bubbles onto a sheet of paper. Rubber cement works, adult supervision is suggested. Your child will have a visual way to understand how many days.

Pop one bubble each day until the event occurs!

Great idea! Another cool thing we used to do in school was to make a paper chain. and tear a link of each day.
